Our Story
Cacto began with a discovery of flavour. The first time Sam - The prickly pear guy - tasted prickly pear fruit, he fell in love. Bright and refreshing, it quickly became his favourite fruit and the spark behind what would become Cacto. A consumer of coconut water's hydration benefits, he found cactus water didn’t just taste better, it felt better too.
But this ancient cactus fruit wasn’t just delicious, it happens to be one of the most sustainable fruits on Earth. Grown without irrigation or pesticides, and used for centuries as a healing tonic, the prickly pear was the perfect foundation for a new kind of plant-based drink. Working with family farms in sun-drenched regions, Sam set out to do things the right way: the prickly pears are harvested at peak ripeness, puréed fresh on-site to deliver real fruit flavour.
Today every can of Cacto reflects Sam's passion and we are proud to be The Real Cactus Water®. A planet loving, and refreshing alternative to coconut water and other plant-based drinks.
